Ideas of India Conference 2023: Digital Transformation

August 6-8, 2023

Leela Palace, Chennai, India

India stands at the forefront of the ongoing global digital revolution. Though Indian talent is working on the frontier of artificial intelligence applications and large language models, developing the India stack, and creating blockchain systems, substantial challenges both persist and lie ahead in the nation’s pursuit of technological prowess.

The country grapples with multiple hurdles in its pursuit of digital transformation, such as addressing inequality, improving access to education and healthcare, combating environmental degradation, tackling social and economic marginalization of various groups, and strengthening state capacity.

To solve these problems, we must build a network of thinkers, experts, entrepreneurs, and doers who can engage in constructive dialogue to generate and incubate ideas. In a world where political and economic freedoms are under attack, we hope this conference lays the foundation for such dialogue.

The Ideas of India Conference is hosted by the Mercatus Center at George Mason University in partnership with Dr. Janhavi Nilekani and Nilekani Philanthropies.

This event is also made possible by:

Bobby and Carola Jain

Aarthi Ramamurthy and Sriram Krishnan

Please note: To facilitate open and meaningful dialogue, The Ideas of India Conference will adhere to the Chatham House Rule, meaning that participants are free to use the information received during the conference, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed.
